Retinal Laser - The retinal laser assists the ophthalmologist in treating diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears, and leaking blood vessels. The use of the laser prevents bleeding and leakage of fluid in the back of the eye and may assist in and preventing a retinal tear from becoming a retinal detachment.
Yag Laser - Patients with acute angle-closure glaucoma can benefit from YAG laser treatment. During YAG laser Iridotomy, a special contact lens is applied to the patient’s cornea, which helps to focus the laser, allowing the creation of an opening in the iris. YAG laser treatment also assists in removing cloudy, post-surgical membranes from the eye after cataract surgery. In this surgical procedure, focused laser applications are used to restore clarity to the optical path of the eye.
Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) - Assist the ophthalmologist in treating glaucoma. Using laser therapy, patients may be able to avoid surgery and reduce their dependence on eye drops. The SLT laser treatment selectively targets pigmented cells while preserving the surrounding tissue. This is a significant advantage over traditional therapies since it causes no coagulative damage, or clotting, within the trabecular meshwork of the eye. |
